Footprints – Sunday mornings for children
What is Footprints?
We call ourselves Footprints as we see each group that meets throughout the church as a Footprint on our journey through life.
When the children are two and a half years old they join Little Footprints, and as they grow older they progress to the main Footprints group. The children leave Footprints to move on to Charged in year 6.
When is Footprints?
Each Sunday, Footprints and Little Footprints starts at 10:15am in the Easter Centre Children’s Zone. Children remain until 12:00 when their parents/carers collect them. All children from the age of 2 and a half – 11 years are welcome – Mum, Dad or carer can stay if you like!
Come and join us any Sunday! You will need to register the first time as we take protecting children as top priority.
What happens?
Each Sunday we celebrate birthdays and any special events, then we usually split into small groups where the children will hear a bible story and work on a related craft activity. Parents are welcome to stay with their children in the Easter Centre, go to the adult service in church, or drop their children off and pick them up at the end of Footprints.
Once or twice a term we hold activities on a Saturday such as a Christmas craft afternoon, a party in the new year, and praise parties.
All Age Services
On the first Sunday of the month Footprints join the rest of the church as all ages gather together for a 90 min service. Our all age services are in the main church at 10:30 am and are an amazing chance for the whole body of Christ to worship God together, including its littlest members!
Footprints is about care, love and the beginnings of a relationship with Jesus
In Footprints we try to create a caring, loving environment where the children have a fun time worshipping God. We want the children to enjoy coming to Footprints and learning about God so we teach using a variety of methods including stories, drama, puppets, and interactive sketches.
We hope as the children grow they will remember the words of God that they hear on a Sunday, and as they journey on through their Christian life their path will be lit by the teaching they receive with us.
We encourage children to bring their friends so they too can experience the friendship of God. By the time children leave Footprints they will know Jesus as their friend, they will know they can talk to him any time and that they are very special and important to him.
