About the children’s ministry

At St John’s, we consider every child to be an important and precious gift from God.

Every child has a valuable part to play in our church family and we enjoy experiencing what they have to offer to the life of the church.

What to expect

Our main teaching time takes place on a Sunday morning during the 10:30am service.

We aim to create a welcoming, caring and loving environment where children can have a fun time worshipping God and learning about Jesus through a variety of styles, including interactive teaching, stories, prayer, singing, puppets, games and craft.

Our desire is that every child will have the opportunity to encounter Jesus Christ and our fully committed children’s workers will support them on their journey of faith.

Regular midweek activities

Playtime (Friday morning 9.30 – 11.15) is a well attended group for pre school aged children and their carers, each session has a selection of different activities for you and your children to get involved with. Once a month playtime transforms into Praise Tots where we have a bible story and spend a short time singing and praying to God.

Special activities

We hold special activities throughout the year – our annual Holiday Club is held each summer, a special “light up Christmas” session is held early in December to kick off our Christmas celebrations. See our upcoming church events page for more.
