Christians Against Poverty Egham Debt Centre

CAP at St John’s Egham

We at St John’s are passionate about lifting people out of debt and poverty. Two of the ways we are doing this is through our CAP Debt Centre and our CAP money management course.

The Debt Centre is managed by Sue Gray. Sue and Madalyn Brooks are the two debt coaches who support our clients.

We started our own local Debt Centre in partnership with CAP in May 2014 and since then have been able to help a large number of people become debt free.

We recently celebrated our 10th Anniversary.

How to get help

It all starts by phoning the main CAP booking line on 0800 328 0006.

You are then booked into the diary of one of our friendly Debt Coaches who arranges to see you along with a volunteer befriender in the safety of your own home.

The Debt coach and befriender help them to collate all the information and complete a fact find which is sent to the CAP head office in Bradford. The award winning team of Debt Counsellors in Bradford review your case and come up with the best way for you to become debt free.

The Debt Coach then meets with you and explains the solution. The Debt coaches, St John’s and CAP will continue to support, encourage and help you until you are debt free and beyond. This is a free service which we operate because we want to show God’s love in a practical way to anyone who is struggling.

The CAP Egham Debt Centre doesn’t just deal with the paperwork, we know that when you are struggling with your finances it effects your mentally well being and that of your family. So we look at ways we can help and support our clients to become part of our church community, make friends and learn about the God who loves them so much he died for them.

We can introduce them to other ministries such as The Hope Hub, Community Fridge, Be Creative, Besom, the Shed as well as our church services

We look at ways to bless our clients and Christmas Hampers are one of the ways we do this.

We also run Money coaching courses. These are an excellent way to help you manage your money. Please speak to Sue Gray or Christine Symons as to details of the next course or see this link https://capuk.org/get-help/money-coaching.
