Discipleship Year
St John’s is delighted to be part of the New Wine Discipleship Year. While we have grown disciples of Jesus for years, this course is just right for us and we have been part of it since 2018.
What is Discipleship Year?
It is about growing as disciples of Jesus, learning how to serve him and his Kingdom with the whole of your life, for the whole of your life. We want you to become Disciple-Making Disciples. It will take you on a life-changing journey of discovery and adventure, where you’ll be inspired, get practical Kingdom experience, make life-long friendships, and have a lot of fun in the process!
Who is it for?
Young adults aged 18-24, who are committed followers of Jesus, and would love to serve at a Church, grow in their faith and make a difference in the lives of others.
I’d say the course and experience of giving a year to God genuinely helped me grow in my relationship with him. Being a children’s and leadership discipleship student gave me chances to step out in faith and grow leadership skills. The DY course was the highlight for me as it helped me to more intentionally pursue Jesus (eg. figuring out how to actually manage to read the Bible everyday!). J Starr, 2025
