Giving to the Easter Centre
If you would like to support St John’s financially by contributing towards reducing the loan that is outstanding on the costs of building the Easter Centre, your gifts can be made via the Parish Giving Scheme (PGS), details of which are given below.
Or just PRESS HERE to go right to the PGS Easter Centre Giving page.
What is the PGS?
PGS is a 21st century solution which improves the efficiency, safety and confidentiality of personal giving to St John’s and has advantages for both individual donors and the parish. The PGS is a registered charity administered on behalf of the whole Church of England. It is fully endorsed by our own PCC and the Diocese of Guildford and is actively promoted by an increasing number of other dioceses as their preferred way of giving.
The diagram below shows how the PGS works.
How it works
The method used by PGS is to collect donations behalf of St John’s by Direct Debit. These can be on a monthly, quarterly or annual basis. All donations are held specifically on behalf of St John’s and the scheme is guaranteed as being safe by the Direct Debit Guarantee provided by all UK banks. This means that Direct Debits are in fact a safer method of payment than standing orders or cheques.
Why do we use the PGS?
The benefits that PGS provides for St John’s is that it vastly reduces administration, meets current HMRC requirements and all information is held securely and confidentially. One other important benefit is that PGS returns the Gift Aid due to us on a monthly basis, directly into the St John’s Centre bank account. This has a significant and positive impact on St John’s cash flow.
For donors, PGS is EASY to set up, EFFICIENT, SECURE and CONFIDENTIAL. There is a direct UK telephone number for PGS should you need to speak to them or amend your payments. Follow this link to see answers to some Frequently Asked Questions.
The Clergy, Churchwardens and PCC fully endorse the Parish Giving Scheme and would encourage everyone to use this scheme for their regular giving.
Giving to the Easter Centre other ways:
Gifts may also be made via Stewardship, CAF, Payroll/Charitable Giving, Online Banking and Cheque (cheques should be made payable to PCC St John’s Church Egham Centre Account).
Note that should the total gifts we receive exceed the amount we need to pay off the loans for the building costs of the Easter Centre, we will use the gifts to pay for the running costs of the Easter Centre.
