January 2021 Eco Act

January 2021 Eco Act – Creation Care Survey

Eco Challenge

While the Eco Church team is focused on what we do as a Church, a new initiative has been launched called Creation Care. This is focused on what we all can do as individuals, families and households.

The Creation Care scheme aims to encourage households to make changes to care for God’s earth. Wherever households are on their creation care journey, this scheme will provide ideas for their next steps, and recognise progress that’s made.

The scheme covers 7 areas of household life:

  • Worship and prayer
  • Home
  • Garden
  • Travel
  • Food
  • Possessions
  • Community and global engagement

You can enter the scheme by completing a questionnaire that covers each of these areas. This will tell you how well your household is doing at each of these aspects of caring for creation, and may provide ideas of ways you can improve.

Once you reach an award level, you can receive a certificate.

Our suggestions for January are: –

  1. Go to http://www.creationcare.org.uk and enter your details in the Households section (we have registered as St John’s Egham so please link to us when you submit your responses)
  2. Answer the 7 different sections of the questionnaire at your own pace
  3. Think of which points you could reasonably take action on, and congratulate yourself in the areas you’re doing well!
