Prince Philip

The Passing Of Prince Philip

A prayer of confidence in this time of loss

Support us O Lord, all the day long of this troublous life, until the shadows lengthen and the evening comes, the busy world is hushed, the fever of life is over and our work is done; then Lord, in your mercy, grant us safe lodging, a holy rest, and peace at the last, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Amen.

The church will be open from 12.30-2.20pm on Monday to Friday this week for people to light a candle and pray.

The Church of England has a virtual book of condolence that you can use.

You may also like to light a virtual candle to make a space to pray.

A Vigil in Commemoration of His Royal Highness Prince Philip Duke of Edinburgh

Friday 16 April, 5.30pm

Alongside the rest of the country we were saddened at the death of His Royal Highness Prince Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh.

On the eve of the funeral of His Royal Highness Prince Philip in Windsor, in Guildford Cathedral a Vigil will be held in Commemoration of His Royal Highness.

Join the Dean and other Cathedral Clergy, with music from the Cathedral Choir, prayers and readings from the Lord Lieutenant of Surrey and the High Sheriff of Surrey, and a homily by The Right Reverend Jo Wells, Bishop of Dorking.

The service will be live streamed and all are invited to join us online in real time via https://youtu.be/Nv-KDHYz-7Q
