Items you might not know you can recycle

Crisp packets

Please hang on to any silver lined packets. They can all be recycled except popcorn. When restrictions lift we can collect them at church and pass them onto Strode’s College for recycling under the TerraCycle scheme

Tin foil

Scrunch clean tinfoil into a ball (the bigger the ball, the easier it is to recycle) and add to recycling.

Nitrous Oxide canisters (NOC)

These are small, silver, bomb-shaped containers.
There is growing concern about the number of NOC appearing strewn along the road and in public spaces.

These are recyclable. Please collect them and note when and where they were found. When the restrictions are lifted, collection can be arranged.

Old Cosmetics & Cosmetic Packaging at Boots, Staines

Anything from old mascaras and empty toothpaste tubes to finished lipsticks, empty vitamin pots and toothbrushes can be recycled at Boots in Staines, and advantage points earned. Full details can be found on the website:

Pens & Ink/Toner Cartridges

Pens, ink and toner cartridge, and small batteries can be taken to Ryman’s Staines to be recycled. See the website for further details:

Juice Cartons/Tetra Paks

Cartons should not be put in the home recycling bin but can be taken to Lyne Recycling Centre. See their website for further details:

Batteries

Small batteries can be recycled in many supermarkets such as Tesco and Waitrose in Egham

Babybel packaging

Egham library now has an indoor recycling bin for all types of Babybel branded packaging. This is run in conjunction with the recycling company Terracycle and for every kilo collected, £1 will go towards Manorcroft Nursery (who are a registered charity).
