St John’s Church will be hosting an eco fayre on Saturday 6th September The main fayre is between 11am-3pm at St John’s churchyard, Egham TW20 9HR.
We invite the whole community to participate to find out about sustainable living to help improve our natural environment and climate action that you can take. As part of your participation it will be important that you bring:
- Items to fix at our popular Repair Clinic. This includes bicycle, scooters, materials, electrical, mechanical and tool sharpening. Click to book here
- Soil / compost to analyze and find out what will grow in it
- Reusable cup for refreshments. There is a £1 charge if you want us to provide a cup.
- Apples and pears for the apple press to create and share juice with everyone
- Items to sell, use for bartering, give away at the 1 metre sale. Click here for more information.
- A bag for produce from the Community Fridge – this will be open from 11am-1pm. You will also need a bag for products you might purchase.
- Cash to purchase preloved, vintage, nearly new items, upcycled, or to make a donation for any services received.
- An open mind to learn about actions you can take with regards to biodiversity, climate and sustainable living. There will be vendors, local groups, speakers, knowledge experts.

Repair Clinic
Our coaches are ready to enable you to repair items you would throw into the waste such as broken watches, fans, prams, gardening tools, and more. You will need to agree to our terms and conditions below if you would like us to try to fix your item.
Environmental Concerns
Runnymede Borough Council climate officers will be on hand to discuss any concerns you have with the climate action the council is taking for the borough.
Knowledge Sharing
We will have expert facilitators to show you how to:
– How to Sharpen tools: scissors, lawn mower blades, ….any types of blades. So bring your own blades
– How to rewire a plug
– Essential tools to have and why
– Using a mobile / tablets to take pictures, increase battery life, reduce energy loss
– Reduce food waste
– Reduce your household energy usage
– Cook to reduce waste
Community Fridge
This will be run from the Easter Centre from 11am-1pm and is open to everyone to see what “waste food” looks like and to take some produce. Please bring a bag and a container. There will be a foot clinic and a hearing aid clinic running at the same time. Please click here to book for the Hearing Aid clinic.

Terms and Conditions of the Repair Clinic
- All repairs carried out at the Repair Clinic (RC) are performed at the customer’s own risk. The advice and repair service is conducted by experienced volunteers and there is no charge, but donations are welcome to cover costs including hall hire, the purchase of tools and equipment and the development of the service.
- PLEASE NOTE: Dangerous tools and equipment are present and sometimes used in repairs. Parents must exercise control over, and be responsible for, the behaviour of their children whilst attending the RC.
- All customers are required to complete the booking form for RC records before any repairs can be contemplated. St John’s is GDPR compliant and all information provided is treated with the utmost confidence and never passed to a third party. A copy of our Privacy Policy is available on request.
- All material items that are brought in must be clean and the colour identified or you to bring in the thread that matches
- Neither the organisers of RC nor the repairers in personal capacities or otherwise are liable for any loss or injury whatsoever that may result from any repair carried out or for any advice or instructions given and used at a later date.
- Neither the organisers of RC nor the repairers in personal capacities or otherwise are liable for any accidental damage that may occur to either visitors’ goods or personal effects during visitors’ time at the sessions.
- Neither the organisers of RC nor the repairers in personal capacities or otherwise are liable if an item needs to be dismantled to review its potential for a repair and it cannot be reassembled.
- The customer is responsible for providing any consumables such as leads, plugs, fuses, zips, etc. that may be needed to fully complete a repair.
- Repairers offer no guarantee for any repairs carried out with or without their help and are not liable if any repaired items do not work properly at home or break down again in the future.
- After making an initial assessment of an item, repairers are fully entitled to use their discretion and refuse to repair an item should they so decide.
- Customers are responsible for the removal of all items that cannot be repaired.
- A maximum of ONE item per person will be examined. Should time allow, extra items may be considered for examination and assessment.
- Items will be examined on arrival in reception and RC reserves the right to refuse to accept for repair any item that is considered too dangerous and/or damaged or obviously beyond repair. In particular, items that cannot operate safely indoors (eg petrol-engined machinery) cannot be accepted.
- RC takes no responsibility in any form whatever for any item, repaired or otherwise, once it has left the premises where the Repair Clinic session is taking place.
